In May of 2007 we went to the southwest corner of Scotland and stayed in a self-catering cottage for four nights. This was our first trip with Flyte, a 16-month-old Border Collie and all three of us enjoyed it as we were blessed with good weather.
Isle Of Whithorn
Isle Of Whithorn from our sitting room window.
Straight across the harbour
...and out to sea.
Speaking of the sea...
Flyte soon had us out and about...
digging in the rocks...
finding sticks...
claiming them...
and chewing them.
He was right affronted when the waves came at him,
so he turned to Jean for protection.
A bit of rest after the climb.
Good, faithful dog-friend...
"No, Flyte,! Too big to take home!"
"Come on! What's keeping you?"
"Better let David rest awhile."
Last look at the beach before heading home for the night.
On a woodland stroll.
Our row of houses across the harbour.
Ours is the two-storey one in the centre.
Along the shore at Garlieston.
Flyte strikes a pose.
Look for the hobbit in the tree.
Galloway House Gardens
Nearby ruined cottage.
Handkerchief tree on the grounds of Galloway House.
Cruggleton Bay.
Across the sands.
Still full of energy.
Sea Thrift in the shore.
Dwarf rhododendron.
Sunset of our last night there.
